5. Analytics and advertising
Consent via cookie banner (Google Consent Mode v2)
When you visit our website for the first time, a cookie banner is shown. Through this banner you can consent to or decline the processing of your data by optional services (in particular Google Analytics 4). Until you give consent, no analytics cookies are set and no personal data is transmitted to Google for analytics or advertising purposes.
We use Google Consent Mode v2. It transmits your consent status (signals such as ad_storage, ad_user_data, ad_personalization and analytics_storage) to Google. The default state before you make an active choice is „denied" for all signals. Only after your explicit consent via the banner are the relevant signals set to „granted" and Google is allowed to set cookies and process data for analytics and advertising purposes.
You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future via the „Cookie settings" link in the footer. The legal basis for processing after consent is Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and Sec. 25(1) TDDDG.
Google Analytics 4
This website uses – only after your consent via the cookie banner – features of the web analytics service Google Analytics 4 (GA4). Provider is Google Ireland Limited („Google"), Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.
Google Analytics allows us to analyse the behaviour of our website visitors. We receive various usage data such as page views, time on site, operating systems used and referral source. This data is assigned to a user ID and to the respective device of the visitor.
We use Google Analytics 4 both for reach analysis (usage statistics for our website) and for advertising purposes. To this end the service may be linked to Google Ads so that we can measure the effectiveness of our advertising campaigns and serve audience-based advertising (remarketing). If you have consented, the corresponding data is transmitted to Google.
We use the IP anonymisation feature (anonymize_ip): your IP address is truncated by Google within member states of the European Union or in other contracting states of the Agreement on the European Economic Area before being transmitted to the USA.
Retention period: User- and event-level data stored by Google that is linked to cookies, user identifiers (e.g. user ID) or advertising IDs is automatically anonymised or deleted after 14 months.
Data transfer to the USA is based on the EU Commission’s standard contractual clauses. Google LLC is also certified under the „EU-US Data Privacy Framework" (DPF). For details see https://policies.google.com/privacy.
The legal basis for the use of Google Analytics 4 and the related data transfer is your consent pursuant to Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and Sec. 25(1) TDDDG. You can withdraw this consent at any time via the cookie settings.
Data processing agreement: We have entered into a data processing agreement with Google in accordance with Art. 28 GDPR and fully implement the strict requirements of the German data protection authorities when using Google Analytics.
