Party.de is one of Germany’s leading online stores for costumes, balloons and party decoration. Together with We Love Parties GmbH we re-engineered the Shopware platform – fast, stable and ready for seasonal peaks around Carnival, Halloween and other holidays.

Party.de is the digital home for everything around Carnival, themed parties and celebrations – from full costumes to thousands of balloons and matching table decoration. Behind the store is We Love Parties GmbH, based in Geesthacht near Hamburg.
With an assortment of tens of thousands of articles, strongly seasonal demand and a clear focus on speed and conversion, the team needed a technical foundation that scales with them – without buckling at peak times.

Approach
The challenge: a grown store with a wide assortment, many categories and extreme seasonal load – Carnival, Halloween and similar peaks produce many times the regular traffic within a few days. At the same time, load times, filters and checkout must stay fast and reliable.
We reworked the Shopware installation in several iterations: caching and indexing strategies, leaner critical paths in the storefront, faster search and category listings, and stabilised monitoring and deployment processes. The result is a platform that’s fast in everyday operation and scales reliably during peak season.
